Manchester Academy Of Fine Arts
Manchester Cathedral
3rd - 31st August 2025
MAFA Members were asked to consider the idea of discovery through voyage. Visitors can engage in a journey around Manchester Cathedral exploring individual artistic interpretations. The exhibition will be placed in five areas of the the Cathedral. The works may be in a variety of media and a route will run from the entrance around the Cathedral. Each space will show works related to aspects of voyage, from personal journeys, exploration of media, to to explorations of places, objects etc.

Size: (Framed) W: 55cm H: 50cm D: 5cm
Price: £995
This painting of Deansgate, Manchester, evokes my artistic voyages. Train lines, roads and canals converge here, routes I've taken across the UK and beyond to paint. Manchester often marks the start of journeys that have led me to paint in Seville, Venice, New York, Boston and Ottawa.
Title: Restaurant El Giraldillo, Seville
Media: Oil on board
Size: (Framed) W: 49cm H: 39cm D: 5cm
Price: £775
This painting of Restaurant El Giraldillo, Seville, recalls my many painting trips there. The light, parasols, alfresco diners also evoke memories of other artistic voyages across Europe, capturing the atmosphere and rhythm of life I seek in cities I return to time and time again.
